Meet Janet

Ms. Janet Nunez is the Founder and Executive Director of Youth 4 Sports, a community driven, non-profit organization dedicated to assisting underserved youths through assistance in providing sports equipment, as well as sponsorship to pay for league fees and a scholarship to a graduating senior softball player from her local high school. She was born in a very small town with low resources in the Dominican Republic and raised in Washington Heights, Manhattan, New York. Janet attended elementary school in the Dominican Republic and George Washington high school in Manhattan, New York.

Janet was brought up in a Dominican household where education was very important and taught to be powerful, since her parents did not have the opportunity to even finish elementary school. After graduating from high school, Janet started her college education at Hunter College of the City University of New York and then attended New York Paralegal school, where she obtained her Paralegal/Litigation specialty certification. When she moved to Georgia, she obtained a Georgia State license as an Immigration Assistant Provider. She is also a Georgia State Notary Public. Ms. Janet also obtained a Spanish Medical Interpreter certification, through the program “Bridging The Gap” at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia. Her love and passion to serve her community led her to become a wedding officiant from AMM (American Marriage Ministries).

In addition to operating Youth 4 Sports, She is the President and CEO of J&P Multiservices, where she assists mainly the low-income Latino community fill out immigration forms, so that they can legalize their status, as well as reuniting families from all over the world in the United States.  She offers her Spanish interpreting services to the limited English proficiency immigrants during their naturalization and adjustment of status interviews at U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services. She actively organizes multiple community service projects, such as feeding the homeless, toys drives, furniture donations and donations to low-income youths and families in the Dominican Republic. She is an active member at Supernatural Culture church in Norcross, GA, where she volunteers for church events, as well as community events.

After Janet moved from New York to Georgia, she has felt this compassion for the youth who have not been exposed to the same opportunities others had. There is a great population of crime, social and economic issues in many Georgia neighborhoods; many minority youths are incarcerated or victims of the city’s senseless violence. With her own personal encounter with life’s unfortunate circumstances and understanding the importance of youths being active in sports, it is her desire to take part and strive for a change. She wants to be able to advocate, help and give those youths a chance that many others have had.

After years of contemplation and having the goal of launching a non-profit organization benefiting her community, Youth 4 Sports was founded in 2022. In October of 2022, the organization became a fully formed 501(C)(3) with great support from her community, family and friends.
